Aussie Gold Hunters second season

The Aussie Gold Hunters crew has spent another hardworking summer in the Kalgoorlie Goldfields shooting the second season for Discovery. We look forward to resuming some fun times following the fortunes of the Aussie Gold Hunter teams when it goes to air in the middle of the year.

In addition to our Season One Aussie Gold Hunter teams, new talent joins this season. Solo prospector Rick Fishers left his home and career in Adelaide four years ago after striking a nugget the first time he picked up a detector. And husband and wife team, Ted and Leckie, with 12 years experience in the industry go for broke on an ambitious gold target for the season.

Our team of editors are working hard to get the episodes ready and rolling by July.

    Hi there!

I’m curious, what was the gold-hunting/filming period for this season? Were these gold hunters really out there in the middle of summer, or was it filmed late winter/spring/early summer maybe?

    Thanks!

Hi John, our gold hunters did indeed work through the summer. Whilst many tourists or casual gold hunters prospect in winter, our gold crews mostly work all year. They may have worked a bit harder during the principal filming period 🙂 which was Nov 2016 to March 2017. cheers
