Electric Pictures recently had a Meet and Greet event for our Aussie Gold Hunters community at the spectacular Museum of the Goldfields, Kalgoorlie.

Last Monday night was a big thank you to those who have supported us along the way as the series has gone from strength to strength. We’ve had such great support from the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and the local shires and businesses in the Goldfields Esperance region, Mid West, Wheatbelt, and Kimberley, where we have filmed the series starting in 2016. Our film crews are now right at home in Aussie Gold country having connected to a number of businesses providing accommodation, catering, vehicle hire and repair, and general advice from the local gold detecting businesses and tourism services.

WA’s film funding agency Screenwest, in partnership with Lotterywest, have been behind us every step of the way, and it was wonderful to have Screenwest CEO Willie Rowe attend the Meet and Greet and address the audience.

We’ve also had support from the WA Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development through their Royalties for Regions Program which has been an important contribution. This means we have enjoyed working with the Goldfields Esperance Development Commission to make sure the local community benefits from our filmmaking presence with, for instance, Youth Workshops recently held in Kalgoorlie by Electric Pictures’ senior production members.

Season Four is due to air early next month and includes our brand new crew the Victoria Diggers who will present you with the biggest nugget ever found on TV! Thank you Film Victoria for assistance with the Victoria shoot that resulted in this amazing find.

Aussie Gold Hunters Season Four starts Thursday 2 May at 7.30pm AEST on Discovery Channel ANZ
